Houzz will schedule within 2 days of your consultation to understand the project and discuss your desires and the scope of work requirements for your project, location, and site features. We will also learn about your expectations and vision for the project, approximate timelines, and budget/feasibility expectations.
We will visit your home to take preliminary measurements and assess the existing space. Then, we will review all the information from our consultation and provide a detailed preliminary budget for your project. If this budget meets your expectations, we will discuss it further during this meeting. The preliminary construction budget includes:
-
A detailed construction estimate
-
Preliminary site measurements
-
Estimated project duration
Following this meeting, we will take approximately 4 days to produce and detail the information for your evaluation. Together, we will decide whether to move on to the next phase and sign a Planning/Design Agreement.
Important Notice – This is only an approximate estimate. It does not represent actual prices but rather an informed guess based on our past experiences and similar projects. There are still many unknowns at this stage that could affect pricing.
During this phase, you can expect detailed communication from our team with questions and updates about the project. This is an interactive process where your responses will impact the overall duration. We will visit your home to take detailed interior/exterior measurements and begin the design work.
We will present proposed floor plan options for your review and approval. Small or significant changes are encouraged during this phase to accommodate your needs and desires. (Minor adjustments may be necessary to accommodate structural and roofing systems after the initial approval.)
After completing the conceptual design phase and achieving budgetary comfort, the design process moves to the Pre-Construction and detailed planning phase. During this phase, we work to finalize interior elevations, selections/finishes, and materials, ensuring they are incorporated into the final design and project budget.
At this stage, we finalize the design, finishes, and budget for the construction. If there are any final changes/updates you wish to make, this is the time to do so. At this point, we make a firm commitment to working together on the construction phase of your project by signing the final budget proposal and construction contract.
Once your budget is finalized and the contract is signed, we schedule the project for production and develop the construction planning and management timeline.
Before construction starts, we will hold a kick-off meeting on-site with you. We will briefly review all expectations during construction and finalize any last-minute details requiring discussion. Weekly, you will meet with Houzz on-site to discuss project progress, our requirements from you, and any relevant information based on the current stage of work.
When the project is considered Substantially Completed, you will be invited to a Pre-Delivery Inspection to review the project and identify any deficiencies requiring correction or completion. We will then immediately address the final corrections.
Our seamless warranty coverage ensures that if anything happens, we’ll be there to assist you.
Upon completion, you will be asked to provide final approval and sign off on the project.
